Sheer
Intentions
The sheer trend has long been a mainstay on runways and red carpets, consistently evolving yet remaining at the forefront. The approach with the Patrice and Ricky set for the brand Ownley was to translate this enduring aesthetic into an accessible & wearable design for a broader audience.
By experimenting with a balance of mid-weight satin and georgette, creating the illusion of sheerness while maintaining subtle coverage and wearability. The result—a fluid silhouette with a hint of 90s “undone chic”—feels both nostalgic and modern.
Originally released in buttercream and eggshell blue, the Patrice & Ricky set gained viral traction on TikTok, prompting numerous re-cuts. Today, Free People carry this set in nine colourways, reflecting its continued appeal and versatility.
